Calendar updated with June events

Dear Chess Players,
The Rochester Chess Club events calendar has been updated for June.
Also, the RCC monthly rated tournament for May and June have been canceled.  So that I and the RCC officers could concentrate on preparing the club’s move to the Harwick, and planning the RGSO tournament for June.  The RCC Monthly rated tournaments will resume in July.
I encourage everyone to keep an eye on the Rochester chess club webpage for updates on activities and tournaments throughout the month/year.
Regards,
Jack

Dear Chess players, The Rochester Chess Club is meeting, Friday April 20, 2012 at the Peace United Church of Christ! There will be no meeting Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the B’nai Israel Synagogue.

The suggested donation for use of the church room is $1 for club members, $2 otherwise (waived for first time visitors.) All donations go directly to the church. There is a phone in the church hall on the first floor. Local calls are free. In case one needs to contact someone at the club, the number is 282-4987, but there is no guarantee that the phone will be heard ringing in the basement.

Please remember that the church is a place of worship, and members are expected to be respectful and on good behavior.

There is a parking lot which has plenty of parking space after regular Mayo hours. Enter on the ground level off of 7th Ave; there is a heated sidewalk leading to the entrance. Go down the stairs on your left as you enter, or take the elevator. The suggested donation for use of the playing space in the synagogue is $1. There is generally a small tournament which starts at ~7:30 PM. The usual tourney entry fee is $3 for adult RCC members (cheap!) and $2 for teen-or-younger RCC members (cheaper!) Add $1 to your EF if you are not a club member. (Not as cheap!) There are usually two prize sections, Adult and Youth. The number of rounds in the tourney (and prizes) are based on the number of entries.Thank you!
