Tomorrow:  Matt Jensen will be giving a simultaneous exhibition against all RCC members.  Clocks will be used and players must take notation of the games.  The time control will be G/60+inc15 starting at 7:00 PM.

Chess Camp:  Matt Jensen and Dennis Mays will be holding a chess camp at the Mayo Clinic Harwick Cafeteria from 9AM-1PM on Saturday, October 24th.  The curriculum will be adapted to fit those enrolled in the camp.  Please ask Matt or Dennis for more details.

Rochester Autumn Open 2015:  This fun event is for all ages and brings in many players from out of town.  In the past we have averaged 75-80 players!  Please ask any of the TD’s at the club if you have questions about the tournament.  Register Online (https://onlineregistration.cc/RCC/RAO15).  The top 2 sections are Open and Under 1600 with cash prizes.  The bottom two sections are Under 1200 and Under 800 / Unrated with 7 trophies in each section.  We would love to see most of our RCC members play in this event.  If you prefer to register at the club any of the RCC officers can help you.

Volunteer Opportunity:
We are a non-profit Christian school off of HWY 52 N. We are serving youth from 3rd through 12th grade.  We have a variety of students including students with ADHD and/or have very high functioning Autism which mostly affects socialization skills.  All students are very bright.  They would benefit from continued brain stimulation after school. What is unique to our school is the daily brain training offered to all our students .  Some students used to belonged to a Kasson Chess Club through Community Education, but they moved to TransformED in Rohester. Some students have chess experience and knowledge, but would benefit from taking their knowledge to a higher skill level.  Some students would be learning the game for the first time.  We will always have staff on site during Chess Club. We would offer Chess Club at our location for anyone interested in joining that do not attend our school.   Below you will find my contact information, but email works well.  I appreciate the willingness to ask for a volunteer.  Thank you.
