Rochester Chess is a federal tax exempt 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit. Since 2014, Rochester Chess has received grants from the Mayo Clinic Office of Community Relations, Rochester Area Foundation (RAF) and US Bank and donations from individuals to support scholastic chess in the Rochester area. Our most recent grant “Chess in the Schools” project will provide chess toolkits (which include chess sets and a chess curriculum), training the teachers to be chess club advisors/coaches, and chess instruction by our team of expert coaches led by National Chess Master Matt Jensen, to up to 5 elementary and middle schools serving up to 100 students. Sustainability of the project will be enhanced by compensating the teachers and coaches for their time. Tax-deductible donations to Rochester Chess:

3. If you would like your donation to be used for a special purpose please include this in a note with your check. Funds can be used for scholarships, equipment, coaching, or unrestricted needs of Rochester Chess.

Regardless of the method used Rochester Chess will send you a confirmation receipt letter that you should retain for your tax records since all donations to Rochester Chess are tax deductible.
