COVID UPDATE: ROCHESTER CHESS WILL RESUME WEEKLY IN-PERSON MEETINGS ON JUNE 15. IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY, PLEASE GET VACCINATED!
Rochester Chess will begin meeting weekly in-person on June 15, 6 – 9 PM, in the South Cafeteria in the Mayo Clinic Superior Drive Support Facility, 3050 Superior Dr. NW, Rochester, MN 55905.
In our recent COVID survey, 96% (24/25) of respondents were fully vaccinated or had antibodies to COVID from a previous infection. Sixty-eight percent (17/25) of respondents were comfortable with no restrictions on attendance while 32% (8/25) said only individuals who were fully vaccinated or had antibodies should be allowed to attend. One parent responding for her 8-year-old child (too young for vaccination at this time) was concerned about him unknowingly transmitting COVID to an unvaccinated adult.
BOTTOM LINE: All attendees will be required to be free of COVID symptoms and to wear a mask. IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY, PLEASE GET VACCINATED ASAP.
We are encouraging children to arrive at the club as close to 6 PM as possible so we can include them in an event for younger chess players.
Park in the employee lot and enter through the main entrance on the south side of the building. Summon security by pressing the red button. Tell security you are there for the chess club. They will unlock the door for you. Follow the signs to the south cafeteria. Text me at 507-254-6809 if you have any questions.
