Chess club meetings have been suspended for 6 – 8 weeks due to the COVID19 pandemic. A huge bummer but it is better to protect our health and the health of those around us. We meet on Mayo Clinic property so we are following Mayo Clinic’s guidelines on nonessential meetings. I will post periodic updates as the course of the pandemic becomes clearer. We had a great turnout for Matt Jensen’s Quick Tournament tonight. Twenty players went at it for 3 rounds. In the end, Matt and Piyush Mukherjee tied for 1st place with perfect 3-0 scores. Soren Wiedmann finished in 3rd place with 2.5 points. Five tied for 4th place. We plan to hold a similar event in March.
