Three slow quads and a mini-swiss tournament tonight at RCTC! Games begin at 6:30 PM

The three slow quads are set (G/90 + 5 sec delay, one game per week). Participants in the quads have committed to playing all 3 rounds (April 16, 23, and 30). Individuals participating in the 3-round mini-swiss (G/90 + 5 sec delay, one game per week) may request one half-point bye for any round.  If you do not have time for the tournament, stop by for a casual game of chess.

RCTC March-April Madness Slow Tournament has been rated

The RCTC March-April Madness Slow Tournament has been rated! The tournament was a great success with 21 total participants. Congratulations to the winner Matt Jensen who finished with a perfect 4-0 score. Close behind were George Paulik with 3.5 points and Jovana Milosevic with 3 points. Jai Knuth had a breakout tournament by defeating some serious chess players. Jai gained 185 rating points in the process.   http://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php?201903266622.0-16782221 Our newest club members Isaac and Luke Sellon did well in their first USCF-rated event scoring 1.5 points each, which earned them provisional ratings of 1000 and 927, respectively.

 

 

Rapid unrated G/15 +5s delay and game analysis will be featured on April 9.
