The club will not be meeting on Tuesday, August 21. Instead we will hold a special tournament in Wabasha with $50 in prizes for the top finishers.

A group of RCC members will traveling to Wabasha on Friday, August 24 to play chess. We will be meeting Edwin at the Wabasha Library: 168 Alleghany Ave. Google maps indicate the drive is about 1 hour. The games will begin at 2 PM and end by 5 PM. Edwin is pleased with the event. Long time RCC member Edwin Albricht is unable to drive to the club meetings due to vision problems. So, we have decided to bring the chess club to Edwin! He lives in Wabasha (about one hour from Rochester). We plan on meeting with him at the Wabasha library to play chess games. So far Rob Richards and I have signed up. Our first opportunity will be Friday, August 17 at 2 pm. An alternative date is August 24. Please let me know if you can make it. It is not often you get the opportunity to play chess with a veteran of World War II who was in combat in the Battle of the Bulge.  

The meeting on August 14 will feature casual chess and chess study groups.
