RCC will be meeting at the Rochester Farmers Market on Saturday, August 25, 7:30 – Noon. We will be playing casual chess and meeting community members who want to learn more about the game. The market theme for the day is Asian and Pacific Island culture. Demos of art, music, and cooking will be featured. Chess fits in with the theme as the game was co-invented in China and India over 1500 years ago and later refined in Persia and Europe. Stop by anytime. We plan to set up in the grassy area near the river.

Today, 2 – 5 PM, we are meeting Edwin in the Wabasha Library to play chess.

The club will not be meeting on Tuesday, August 21. Instead we will hold a special tournament in Wabasha with $50 in prizes for the top finishers.

A group of RCC members will traveling to Wabasha on Friday, August 24 to play chess. We will be meeting Edwin at the Wabasha Library: 168 Alleghany Ave. Google maps indicate the drive is about 1 hour. The games will begin at 2 PM and end by 5 PM. Edwin is pleased with the event.
