Jovana’s Advanced Strategic Chess Class: Maneuvering and Piece Coordination.

Enclosed are three starting positions for Jovana’s Advanced Strategic Chess Class: Maneuvering and Piece Coordination. Full PGN files and other material will be provided to participants after the class.

Jovana’s Advanced Strategic Chess Class: Maneuvering and Piece Coordination.

Find the best continuation for white. Create a plan to improve the position of your pieces. Just like how all players need to be involved in a football game, when it comes to chess, you have to use all your pieces and bring them into the battle. It is important not to involve your pieces in the play randomly, but with some useful purpose.

MSCA Scholastic Chess Series – First Tournament 7/13, Second Tournament 8/3

Please read this message from Andrew Titus about a great opportunity for scholastic chess players. I am hoping we can bring a contingent from Rochester to participate.

Hey everyone,

The Minnesota State Chess Association is organizing a monthly scholastic tournament at the Chess Castle of Minnesota (1121 NE Jackson St #134, Minneapolis, MN 55413). The first tournament is tomorrow and the next tournament is on August 3rd. The format is very similar to the Wayzata Actions and also the Golden Gopher Scholastics if you played there. More information can be found here: https://onlineregistration.cc/index.php

There are four scholastic sections (K-5 and K-12 rated and unrated sections). The unrated sections are geared to newer players who don’t need a USCF membership.

If you have any questions, please let Saumik Narayanan know. I hope that you can make it to these monthly events!

Thanks,
Andrew Titus
