PAIRINGS FOR ROUND 1 OF THE JANUARY CLASSICAL CHESS TOURNAMENT, WHICH STARTS ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 2. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The field was divided into sections according to chess playing experience. The Championship section is a round robin quad (3 rounds). The other sections are swisses (3 rounds). We are looking for a house player as there is an odd number of players in section Seven. USCF-rated games (G/60 + 30s increment) begin at 6:30 PM unless other arrangements have been made. Forfeit time is 7:00 PM. Half-point byes are available for any round in the swiss sections. Let me know if you have any questions.

LOCAL BREWERY LTS IS HOSTING A CHESS TOURNAMENT ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 11 AT 6:00 PM.

Rochester Chess advisory board member Paul Kinion asked me to post this announcement:

LTS is hosting a chess tournament on Monday, 12/11 at 6:00 pm.

Have you ever played chess in a brewery? If no, you not alone! I recommend drinking NA beer to stay aware of your surroundings, including the chess board in front of you. Find out more about the tournament at their site: https://www.facebook.com/events/1257953275596974?ref=newsfeed
