Casual Night Tonight. 3 Chess Camps Announced!

Tonight is casual night and an officer meeting at 6:30 PM.

3 Chess Camps have been announced held by Matt Jensen.  Details below and on the calendar.  Please let Matt or Dennis know if you’d like to register!  The first camp is this Saturday, all ages welcome.

THEME: Watch for weaknesses!

Matt has been playing chess since age 5 and coaching for over 15 years. He was a three time K-3 state

champion and a three time K-12 state champion. Matt was able to reach the title of USCF Expert at age

13 and has experience helping students of all ages and skill levels improve their chess game.

This year’s camp will be divided into a basic and intensive study sections with a series of mini-sessions

throughout the day. The theme of the camp is Watch for weaknesses! We will learn how to spot weak

points and use them to our advantage.

Basic – Intended for kids under age 12 or ratings below 1000 ($20)

Intensive Study – A longer day of instruction for players 1000-1800 ($40)

10:30-12:00 Team Activity

1:00-2:00 Slow Chess Matches

2:00-3:00 Game Review with Analysis
