Rochester Area Scholastic Chess League City Cup, March 10, 8:30 AM – 2 PM at Lourdes High School

The Rochester Area Scholastic Chess League (RASCL) will hold its annual RASCL City Cup Tournament on Saturday March 10 at Lourdes High School in the library. The tournament is free. The event is sponsored by the RASCL participating schools and by a grant to RCC from the Mayo Clinic Department of Community Relations. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the top finishers.

Varsity Division: Players representing teams from each of Rochester’s High Schools. Lourdes, Century, John Marshall and Mayo. No preregistration is required for this division.

Junior Varsity Division:  Individual tournament where all participants play 4 games. Open to any player in elementary, middle, or high school. Students should be at the “intermediate” level of chess experience, be able to record their moves, and use a chess clock. Trophies will be awarded to the top five finishers.
