Forty-four students competed in the 2023 Rochester Scholastic Holiday Tournament on December 16 in the Mayo Clinic Harwick Building. Sixteen students were participating in their first ever USCF-rated event. Thanks to the numerous volunteers and Mayo Clinic for helping make the tournament a success. An informal poll among the participants indicated that they were in favor of another tournament next month. The event could be used as a qualifier for the RASCL Junior Varsity Swiss which will be held on Saturday, February 24 at Lourdes High School. Stay tuned for details. Below are the results of the Holiday Scholastic. Congratulations to everyone for playing chess and growing your brains! 🙂 The tournament has been rated by USCF: https://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php?202312167052-30901323.
