2019 Rochester Open Results

Hello All,

Enclosed are links to the results of the 2019 Rochester Open held at RCTC this past weekend. Sixty-five chess players competed for cash prizes or trophies in 4 sections. Thanks to Paul Kinion and the RCTC math department for providing the space and equipment. Congratulations to Andrew Titus for winning the title of 2019 Rochester Open Champion with a score of 4.5-5.0 giving up only a draw to Rochester Master Dexter Thompson. Dexter recently moved to Rochester from Seoul, South Korea. Let’s all welcome Dexter to our community.

Congratulations to local favorite Golden Peng who had a breakout tournament gaining 175 rating points. Golden is now a class B player. Diego Behnke dominated the U1600 section with a 5-0 score, 2 full points ahead of his nearest rival. Danny Lincoln won the bantam section with a perfect 4-0 score. The Rochester Open was Danny’s first chess tournament. Not a bad start Danny.

The USCF has posted the tournament results of the rated secions: http://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php?201906222242-17085082
