ROCHESTER CHESS NEWS.
The free RCC December 2025 Scholastic Chess Tournament was held on December 6 in the Mayo Clinic Harwick Building. Thirty-four students participated in three sections. The tournament was expertly directed by TD Matt Markland. Numerous coaches analyzed games with the players between rounds. Thanks to Shanti and Scott for their assistance in the K2 section.

Henry Beam, second grade at Lincoln, finished in first place with at perfect score of 4-0 in the K2 unrated section.

Richard Luseni, a sophomore at Century High School, finished in first place in his first USCF-rated chess tournament in the lower rated section with a perfect score of 4-0. Joseph Bell, a senior at Lourdes High School, finished in first place in the upper rated section with a perfect score of 4-0. Congratulations to the winners. Round 2 of the Winter Slow Swiss. Four rounds of Game/60+30s increment in a Swiss format will be played on Tuesdays, December 2, 9, 16 and January 6. Games begin at 6:30 PM.
Casual chess and kids chess 6 – 9 PM.
