Tuesday, October 7: Game analysis. Bring a copy of an interesting game that you would like to share with the group. Casual chess and kids are welcome. Doors open at 6 PM.

Saturday, October 11: National Chess Day Scholastic (K-8) Tournament on October 11, 2025. Community Education online registration has been inadvertently closed for the event. The Minnesota Chess Class Championships return to Rochester, November 15-16! Compete with your peers! The Class Champs is a unique event that closely groups players by rating. Three spots for the 2026 Closed State Championship Playoffs are on the line! The tournament will be held in the Mayo Clinic Harwick Cafeteria, 205 3rd Avenue SW, Rochester. In 2003, when the class championships were held in Rochester, over one-third of the participants were members of the Rochester Chess Club. We are hoping that local players will show their support of major chess tournaments in Rochester by participating in the event this year.
ROCHESTER CHESS: JULY 15 – 21.
Tuesday, September 16: Round 1 of the 2025 Fall Slow Swiss, September 16-30. Three rounds of Game/60+30s increment in a Swiss or quad format will be played (one game per week). Membership in USCF is required (https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess). Games start at 6:30 PM. Half-point byes are available for schedule conflicts. TD Matt Markland will be playing and directing.
