RESULTS OF THE MINNESOTA OPEN WARM-UP SWISS.

Twenty players competed in the Minnesota Warm-up Slow Swiss tournament which was completed on February 11. The tournament has been rated by USCF: https://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php?202502111302.0-16917452.

Eli Goplen (8th grade at Willow Creek) won first place in the Bronze section with a perfect 3-0 score. Eli is making a habit of winning tournaments at the club.

Isaac (sophomore at Mayo High School) and Luke Sellon (8th grade at John Adams) dominated the Silver section with scores of 3-0. Isaac and Luke are members of the Mayo High School varsity chess team which finished the regular season in the Rochester Area Scholastic Chess League (RASCL) with a team score of 6 wins and 0 losses. Impressive!

Jim Bundy played in his first tournament at the club. Jim proved he knows how to play chess by finishing in first place with a score of 3-0 in the Gold section.

Congratulations to the winners and to all other participants. We will be starting another slow swiss on February 26. Stay tuned for details.
