November 2021 OTB USCF-Rated Slow Swiss & Quads. ROCHESTER Masters Invitational On DECEMBER 4.
The November tournaments will be 3 – 4 rounds either as a quad or a mini-swiss. Rated games of G/60 + 30 will be played in person once per week on Tuesday evenings starting on November 2. Games begin at 6:30 PM. Alternative dates and times can be negotiated if both players agree and they inform me ahead of time. Register before noon on Monday, November 1 to be included in the tournament. No byes are allowed in the round robin quads. Registration fee: $5 payable at the site or online at the Rochester Chess homepage through the PayPal donate button. Registration is free for masters. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers: $50 first prize in a quad; $40, 30, 20 in the mini-swiss. Site: Mayo Clinic Harwick Building, South Cafeteria, 201 3rd Avenue SW, Rochester, MN. Park for free on the street after 5 PM weekdays/all day weekends or in a nearby parking ramp. Participants must be free of COVID symptoms and wear a mask. If you have not already done so, please get vaccinated for the safety of all.

RESULTS OF THE 2021 SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER SLOW EVENTS
Congratulations to Isaac Sellon for placing first in the 2021 September-October Slow Swiss with a perfect score of 4-0. Jesse Buss and Steve Lange tied for 2nd-3rd places with 3-1 scores each losing only one game to the eventual winner. Isaac will receive $30 for first place. Isaac gained over 159 rating points. Steve and Jesse will split the prizes for 2nd and 3rd ($30 total). Thanks to Steve for being flexible in allowing Isaac to reschedule their last round match.
Soren Wiedmann finished with a perfect 3-0 score in the second quad to take the first place prize of $40, Soren gained over 150 rating points. . Matt Jensen and Master Thompson tied for first-second places in quad 1. They played a hard-fought draw in their last round game.
