Chess and cheesesteaks!

Please see the note below from Steve Lange, Editor Rochester Magazine and a member of Rochester Chess.

Come for the chess. Stay for the cheesesteaks. On Thursdays from 2-6 p.m., Jersey Jo’s Philly Cheesesteaks has been hosting casual chess at its one-of-a-kind shop at 187 18th Ave SW (in the small strip mall across the Frontage Road from the McDonald’s on 2nd St. SW). Stop in for casual chess (and, really, there’s no obligation to buy any food).

NOVEMBER SLOW SWISSES START TONIGHT, NOVEMBER 2

The November USCF-rated swisses will be 3 – 4 rounds. Rated games of G/60 + 30 will be played in person once per week on Tuesday evenings starting on November 2. Games begin at 6:30 PM. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers: $50 first prize in the top swiss and $40, 30, 20 in the lower swiss.
