SUMMER SLOW USCF-RATED SWISS BEGINS ON TUESDAY, JULY 23. ONLINE REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Three-four rounds of Game/60+30s increment in a Swiss or quad format beginning on Tuesday, July 23 will be played. Membership in USCF is required (https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess). Games start at 6:30 PM. Half-point byes are available for schedule conflicts. Prizes will be awarded to the section winners.

FREE Chess at the Farmers Market, 9 AM – NOON July 13th!

Rochester Chess will host a free chess exhibit at the Farmers Market https://www.facebook.com/rochfarmmkt/ on the fairgrounds on Saturday, July 13, 9 AM – noon. Children and adults are invited to play chess and receive instruction from our team of experienced chess coaches. Chess sets will be provided.

The market is an opportunity to share your love of chess. If you do not know how to play chess, no problem, we will teach you! This event will be a lot of fun. We will be in the large grassy area. No registration is required. Stop by anytime! We hope to see you there.

RESULTS OF THE 2024 ROCHESTER OPEN ARE IN!

The 2024 Rochester Open took place in the Mayo Civic Center on July 6 and 7. A total of 140 players competed in one of 5 sections. $5000 in prizes were awarded to the winners. Okechukwu Iwu, James Neal II, and Josiah Jorenby split $1600 for tying for first – third places with scores of 4-1 in the Premier Section.
