Rochester Mini-Chess Camp for Youth and Adults, February 11, 2023, 9 AM – Noon at Mayo Clinic Harwick Building Cafeteria

Lead instructors: Justin Ricker and Dennis Mays. Participants will be divided into groups based on their skill level.

Approximate Camp Schedule

  • 9 AM – 9:30 Tactics!
  • 9:30 – 10:30 Advanced players play one game (G/30 with notation).  Coaches will help players analyze their games afterwards. Intermediate and Novice Participants will play 2 games (G/15)
  • 10:30 – 11:15 Deep game analysis of their annotated game with a chess coach
  • 11:15– 12:00 PM Endgames you must know.

Wrap-up

REMINDER – CHESS CLASS BY NATIONAL MASTER MATT JENSEN: CALCULATION TRAINING – A MINI-SERIES.

National Master Matt Jensen will be leading a chess class on “Calculation Training – a Mini-Series” starting on Tuesday, January 10, 7:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mayo Clinic Harwick Building. On Thursdays from 4-6 p.m., Jersey Jo’s Philly Cheesesteaks is hosting casual chess at its one-of-a-kind shop at 187 18th Ave SW (in the small strip mall across the Frontage Road from the McDonald’s on 2nd St. SW).
