USCF-RATED 2023 Spring Swiss Begins on April 4!
Back by popular demand (you are welcome Michael!), we will be holding a USCF-rated 2023 Spring Swiss of 4 or 5 rounds beginning on Tuesday, April 4. Rated games of G/60 + 30 will be played in person, one game per week on Tuesday evenings in the Mayo Clinic Harwick Building Cafeteria. Games begin at 6:30 PM. Alternative dates and times can be negotiated if both players agree and they inform me ahead of time. Register before noon on Monday, April 3 to be paired in the first round. Half-point byes are permitted in any round. Participants must be current members of USCF: https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess

Site: Mayo Clinic Harwick Building, South Cafeteria, 201 3rd Avenue SW, Rochester, MN. Park for free on the street after 5 PM weekdays/all day on weekends or in a nearby parking ramp (preferred). Participants must be free of COVID symptoms.
CASUAL BLITZ TOURNAMENT ON TUESDAY, MARCH 28!
National Master Matt Jensen will be joining the field in this tournament to determine who is the best blitz player in Rochester. The tournament is free but the winner gets the bragging rights for 2023.
Doors open at 6 PM. Games begin at 6:30 PM.

On Thursdays from 4-6 p.m., Jersey Jo’s Philly Cheesesteaks is hosting casual chess at its one-of-a-kind shop at 187 18th Ave SW (in the small strip mall across the Frontage Road from the McDonald’s on 2nd St. SW).
