ROCHESTER CHESS IS MEETING TONIGHT, AUGUST 23.

A casual novice tournament will start at 6:15 PM. A chess coaching workshop will be held from 7 – 8 PM. Anyone interested in learning more about coaching and assisting with scholastic chess clubs is invited to attend. You do not have to be a strong chess player to help a coach run a scholastic chess club.

Casual quads (G/15 + 5s delay) will be played after the workshop.

Lydia Hansen is a freelance writer for Rochester Magazine. Lydia is working on a piece for the August edition highlighting a couple of Rochester’s lesser known clubs – the Rochester Chess Club being one of them. Lydia is seeking more information about the club – she is hoping to collect 3-4 facts about the club that might get people interested in chess or getting involved or be able to see themselves being part of this group.

I chatted with Lydia this evening. If you have anything you would like to communicate to her about the club please do so. Her email address is noodlelydia@gmail.com.
