Friday Night: Odds Chess Blitz: Starts at 7 PM – 6 rounds of 3+2 with $40 to first and $20 to second! Playoffs used to split ties. For ratings – Use chess.com blitz first option, Lichess.org blitz minus 200 as second option, USCF as third option.
Saturday: USCF regular and quick-rated Mini Swiss event. G/30 d5, sections of 4 by rating. Rounds are at 10 and 11:30. $40 and a free ChessGoals course to winners of each section.

On Thursdays from 4-6 p.m., Jersey Jo’s Philly Cheesesteaks is hosting casual chess at its one-of-a-kind shop at 187 18th Ave SW (in the small strip mall across the Frontage Road from the McDonald’s on 2nd St. SW). FREE CHESS CLASS AND GAME ANALYSIS ON TUESDAY, JULY 25.

Coach Jacob Arroyo will be leading a free chess class on Tuesday, July 25, 6 – 7 PM featuring a discussion of the French Defense.

You are invited to bring one or more of your chess games from the 2023 Rochester Open to share with other club members. Master Matt Jensen and others will be analyzing some of their games from the Rochester Open.
