Additional funding is provided by a youth enrichment grant to Rochester Chess from the Mayo Clinic Office of Community Relations. The tournament has three sections, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. All sections are unrated. Intermediate and Advanced players will be required to record their games. Instruction will be provided if needed. All participants will play 4 games (no elimination). Participants may request up to two ½-point byes for rounds they cannot play.  Read More…

Just ten more days until the Rochester Open 2016 event begins!

Join us for two days of dropped queens, masterful sacrifices, and friendly (yet competitive) chess. Play for fun, or play for the prize money; whether you play casually or competitively, there will be chess games for you. This is the only major Rochester chess event this year, so don’t miss it!

If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time to preregister. Just go to https://onlineregistration.cc/RCC/RO2016 and fill out the form. Alternatively, you can sign up on-site.
