A Message from MSCA: Minnesota Weekly Online Grand Prix!
In this time of no OTB tournaments the Minnesota State Chess Association has organized online chess tournaments on Lichess. Please see the message below. Rochester Chess is organizing an online slow tournament (G/60 +30), one game per week. If you have not already, let me know if you are interested. Also, WFM Jovana Milosevic plans to offer an advanced chess class through Zoom. Stay tuned for more information.
Minnesota Online Grand Prix
With everybody stuck at home due to social distancing policies, all the local chess clubs and events have shut down for the foreseeable future. In order to help everybody get their chess fix in, the MSCA has decided to create the Minnesota Weekly Online Grand Prix!
We will be organizing 12 to 14 online tournaments every week through lichess.org. Players will accumulate points for every tournament they play in, and $100 in cash prizes will be awarded at the end of each week! You don’t have to play in every event in order to compete for Grand Prix prizes.
You can view the tournament schedule and current registrations at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17uQXGEHBk1BSAtbJoyuWNzZYxqJSO9BIG-BgDoW-8k0/edit?usp=sharing
