Round 4 (final) of the 2019 Fall Slow rated chess tournament will be held on Tuesday, November 26 in the Mayo Clinic Harwick Cafeteria. Games start at 6:30 PM. If you are unable to play, please notify me as soon as possible.
Round 3 of the Fall/Winter Slow will be held on Tuesday, Nov 12 in the Mayo Clinic Harwick South Cafeteria. Games start at 6:30 PM.

2019 Rochester Winter Scholastic Chess Tournament,
Formerly known as the RCTC President’s Cup, Saturday, December 14 at Mayo Clinic
Saturday, December 14, 10 AM – 5 PM in the Mayo Clinic Harwick Cafeteria
Mark your calendars for the Rochester Winter Scholastic Chess Tournament at Mayo Clinic on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Entry is free! Rochester Chess, an educational nonprofit, is grateful to their sponsors who provided youth enrichment grants: Mayo Clinic Community Public Affairs, Rochester Area Foundation, and US Bank. The tournament has three sections, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. The Advanced section will be USCF-rated (www.USChess.org). Intermediate and Advanced players will be required to record their moves. All participants will play 4 games (no elimination). Participants may request up to two ½-point byes for rounds they cannot play in.
Time Control: Each player gets 30 minutes (+ 5 sec delay) to make all their moves.
Registration: Online registration (preferred) at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc0p4FVHRKSskoI2_IvGVVqfqjgjiH9kRLpHRn36IQ8So5u1Q/viewform?usp=pp_url or onsite from 10:00-10:30 AM. Players registering after 10:30 may receive a 1/2-point bye for round 1. Play starts at 11:00 AM. Register early as the tournament is capped at 60 participants.
Volunteers are needed to help set up and monitor the playing site. Please let us know if you can assist. Experienced players are encouraged to attend to help coach our developing players.
Instruction: Chess Masters Dexter Thompson and Matt Jensen will provide game analysis for players who record the moves of their game.
Registration Fee: Free entry for all and there will be prizes thanks to our sponsors!
