KIDS’ NIGHT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS. THANKS TO THE VOLUNTEER CHESS COACHES!
I hope everyone had fun at kids’ night on November 28 at the club. Fifteen kids and ten chess coaches participated in the event (not counting numerous parents who attended). A drawing was held for a free chess lesson with expert chess player and excellent coach Justin Ricker. Henry Beam (kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary School) and Hollis Johnson (home school, 7 years old) each won a free chess lesson with Justin. I am definitely jealous!
By my count, ten chess coaches volunteered to help: Justin, Tim, Bob, Isaac, Calder, Wilson, Kevin, Anthony, Steve, and Dennis. I am so pleased that members of Rochester Chess were willing to volunteer their time to help support chess in our community. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
