Volunteers are needed for managing our chess exhibit at the STEAM Summit on Tuesday, November 15, 9 AM – 2 PM. Let me know if you can take a one- or two-hour shift teaching chess at the STEAM conference at the RCTC Regional Sports Center, 851 30th Ave SE, Rochester, MN
Rochester Chess will have three tables with 6 chess sets set up and literature on the benefits of chess for developing critical thinking skills that are important in STEAM fields. Chess sets are like magnets for kids. It is a lot of fun.
Chess and Cheesesteak Thursday, October 27, 4 – 6 PM
Come for the chess. Stay for the cheesesteaks. On Thursdays from 4-6 p.m., Jersey Jo’s Philly Cheesesteaks will host casual chess at its one-of-a-kind shop at 187 18th Ave SW (in the small strip mall across the Frontage Road from the McDonald’s on 2nd St. SW). Stop in for casual chess. That is all you need to do.
