2022 RASCL SWISS TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 26 AT MAYO HIGH SCHOOL.
2022 RASCL SWISS TOURNAMENT on Saturday, February 26, 2022, 8:45 AM to 2:30 PM at Mayo High School Mohlke Center, rooms 2-254 & 2-257 (2nd floor). Enter the building through door 6, south entrance, and look for signs to the room.
Open to any student not playing in the varsity RASCL City Cup Team Tournament. This Swiss tournament will be held concurrently with the RASCL City Cup to provide an opportunity for scholastic players not competing in the City Cup. Four rounds of Game 30+3s in a Swiss Style format will be played. No elimination. All participants will play 4 games. Participants will be required to record their moves and use a chess clock. Trophies/medals will be awarded to the top five finishers. Registration (free) is required to reserve your spot in the tournament.

Lunch Break: 11:20 AM (FREE PIZZA!) Bring money for snacks and softdrinks at the concession stand.
Round 3: 12:00 PM

On March 1 we will hold USCF-rated tournaments of 3 – 4 rounds either as a quad or a mini-swiss. Rated games of G/60 + 30 will be played in person once per week on Tuesday evenings. Participants must be current members of USCF: https://new.uschess.org/ Games begin at 6:30 PM. Alternative dates and times can be negotiated if both players agree and they inform me ahead of time. Register before noon on Monday, February 28 to be included in the first round of the tournament. Half-point byes are permitted in the mini-swiss. No byes are allowed in the round robin quads. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers: $50 first prize in a quad; $40, 30, 20 in the mini-swiss. Site: Mayo Clinic Harwick Building, South Cafeteria, 201 3rd Avenue SW, Rochester, MN. Park for free on the street after 5 PM weekdays/all day on weekends or in a nearby parking ramp. Participants must be free of COVID symptoms. Due to new Mayo Clinic regulations, attendees must wear a surgical, (K)N95, or other approved mask. If you have not already done so, please get vaccinated for the safety of all.
